Home for Sale = a Clean Home

For the past 5 months, our house has been spotless. Knowing that someone might stop by at any time to see the house...we always had to keep it clean. The good thing is that we've become used to keeping everything very clean so I think now it is habit. Not that we were slobs before, but the once and a while we'd let the dishes sit overnight or something. Not anymore! Ty is a champ, he cleans a ton plus takes care of the yard pretty much on his own. I help weed every once and a while. Taking care of a home is definitely a team effort!

The Duchess

Georgiana Cavendish, the Duchess of Devonshire

Keira Knightley as the Duchess

I love this sort of stuff.

Looks like a great movie, and probably an even better book! I want to read this book before the movie: The Duchess, by Amanda Foreman.
The movie comes out in September!

I Hate Money

The problem is that I can't spend it. It's hard for me. Why is that a problem, you ask? Isn't that a good thing? It can be. But for me, it means agonizing over whether or not to go out to eat at work or buying a new pair of shoes every once and a while. Tyler is always telling me to go buy some new clothes for myself (I know, what a sweetie) but I just CAN'T! I buy new clothes a couple of times a year, and it's usually just a few badly-needed items. I still have clothes from years ago. I admit, most of them don't fit anymore but I hold on to them "just in case" I fit into them again someday.
I think even if I had lots and lots of money, I'd still be super cheap.

It's Time

From our last Maui trip. Paradise!

Yes, it's time for a trip. We haven't been anywhere (together) for 6 months and we REALLY need a vacation. And we think we're going to go back to our favorite place in the world. MAUI.

There's no other place like it. I can't even remember how many times Ty has been there. I think this will be my 3rd or 4th time. We've already resolved to not do anything but sit on the beach-except for go kayaking. Other than that, it's just sitting on the beach and eating pineapple with a cold, fruity drink.

It's a special place to us because that's where we spent our honeymoon. Lots of great memories. Ty went there a couple of times with his family and his now-deceased Gram. So, more great memories.

Honeymoon bliss!

I also want to go to Prince Edward Island-yes, I love Anne of Green Gables. Somehow though, I think we will end up going to Maui before the PEI. As long as it's a vacation, I'm happy.

Sad!

This is heartbreaking:
BEIJING -- Nastia Liukin tied for first but got second in an incredibly convoluted scoring mess in the women's uneven bars competition Monday at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
It seemed she wuz robbed, China's He Kexin getting the gold, Liukin left with silver. China's Yang Yilin got the bronze, the bars results adding to the host nation's sensational gymnastics performance at these Games -- the great haul of China.
Wuz Liukin robbed?
No, at least not mathematically.
But that didn't do anything to lessen the sting of getting the exact same score, 16.725, but getting silver instead of gold.
"It's nothing I can control," Liukin said. "It's all up to the judges.
"I'm definitely a little upset. You know, I was hoping I could get another gold," to go with the individual all-around gold she won last Friday.

Still Swimming

It hasn't been the biggest story of the Olympics- not nearly as much media coverage as Phelps has received- but Dara Torres is pretty amazing. She is 41 and just won a silver medal. She came in a close second to a 24-yr old someone 17 years younger than her! It's amazing that she is still performing at this level. I thought she deserved some attention too!

We're Phans

Me and Tyler have been pretty into the Olympics-especially watching Michael Phelps win 8 gold medals! Can you believe how close some of his swims have been?

Wow!

Emmy!

Happy Birthday Emmy!
You're the best big sister I could have asked for!

Happiness

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.

Olympic Trash Talking

Did you catch the awesome relay swim last night?

Team USA won!

The French team was trash-talking the USA team before the event, and even though the French team was the favorite going into the race, team USA WON!

That'll teach the French team to trash talk the USA team! I just thought that was pretty cheap to trash-talk at the Olympic Games. That's not really what the Olympics are about. But I'm guessing the French team learned their lesson after last night.

Weekend Fun

We love Park City and spending time with family.
We had a nice, relaxing weekend and quite the adventure on PC's public transit system. Let's just say we were on the bus for hours, but the food at end was worth the wait. Thank goodness.
Tyler and I went on Deer Valley's lift and the views were gorgeous. All in all, it was a fun time!

My Mom's bday was on Saturday and we had a party on Sunday. My Mom is the best...really. Happy Bday Mom!
